Strange, dark, oddly shaped marks on one end of the rug

I really love the colors and pattern on the rug...BUT there are some random, dark, oddly shaped patterns on one end. It's almost as if it is a "shadow" but it's definitely not. Looks like a texturing issue. Oh well, back to shopping for another rug elsewhere...at least it was only $25L.
