The origin of this project was back on early v10 version, when our egg-wrapping-system made the life easier for us and other breeders. With the changes on v11the collecting coops and auto-return systems became useless, and our wrapping system out of date. So we have looked for a new solution. Over the past weeks we have been working on a system for collecting and packing the V11 SionEggs. Now we are ready to proudly present the result of this work:
"EggBoxer" -- EGG COLLECTING AND WRAPPING SYSTEM
Every time you click the system, it will pick up one of the eggs your chickens have laid. It fetches the egg to the location of the EggBoxer. Then it rezzes a proteggtor. Now you can click the proteggtor to put your egg in it and the EggBoxer will rez a box containig all the information about your egg, including:
- Race
- Color 1 & 2
- Ancient / Scarce / etcetera
- Color NAMES
All this information is collected WITHOUT HAVING TO TYPE ANYTHING.
The box takes on the colors of your egg and renames itself to hold all the information. Now you drag the proteggtor for your inventory to the box and take the box into inventory. The result: A clear overview over your stock of eggs, without effort.
When rezzed in world, the boxes will display all their information in hovertext for 30 seconds when you click them.
The names are fully compatible with Panacea's one-prim egg vendors , so you can put the boxes in her vendor without need to renaming them.
Version 1.54 features version 1.11 of the Egg Fetcher. This version negotiates with other Egg Fetchers nearby (if any) to prevent multiple fetchers from going to fetch the same egg. The EggBoxer will from now on only listen to proteggtors it has rezzed ITSELF, thereby preventing crosstalk between two or more EggBoxers owned by the same avatar. (Rezzing more than one EggBoxer owned by the same avatar is useful when you have V11 and V12 chickens on the same farm: Fill one EggBoxer with V11 proteggtors and the other with V12 proteggtors and you can pack both types of egg.)
Version 1.53 features version 1.10 of the Egg Fetcher with reduced lag. Also all crosstalk between EggBoxers has been eliminated, so that it is now possible to use two EggBoxers side by side without problems.
Version 1.52 features version 1.23 of the EggBox, that displays the date the egg was laid in the name in your inventory as well.

Version 1.51 is the first release that will recognize the new special races. (Thanks to Nicola Milgrom for borrowing me an Astral egg!)
You will find a wider set of sensor ranges to pick from in this version and also a menu choice to specify the level of detail of the logging the system provides.
Another important mew feature is the "Box Only" mode several customers have been asking for: In this mode the system does NOT send out Egg Fetchers to get the eggs but only rezzes a proteggtor on click and makes you a box to pack it in. This greatly speeds up packing if you have your eggs already in one place together.
This release includes version 1.22 of the EggBox, that displays the new race information. Also this version of the EggBox makes it possible to see in your inventory what version egg (V11 or V12) is stored inside it.
This release further includes version 1.06 of the Egg Fetcher, which has a range limit to prevent "runaway" fetchers: The fetcher will now never go further away from the base station than the sensor range you have specified.

Version 1.50 is an extra release, made for the new V12 eggs.
In addition to the information the boxes used to display, you will now also see the version number,
and in case it is a V12 egg you will see the age in days as well.

Version 1.49 is a bugfix.
Although version 1.48 worked fine for most users, there were a few customers who had problems with it.
The problems were not rezzing boxes and proteggtors under heavy lag conditions.
V1.49 has been made more fail-safe against laggy conditions.
So no new functionality, this time. That will have to wait until V1.50.

Again I have received a lot of suggestions for a new version of the egg boxer, but sometimes users have different preferences.
Then the only solution is to provide more freedom of choice to the customer.
Therefore this version is equipped with a menu to set you personal preferences.
During normal operation, the system used to be quite "chatty". Some users got in a conflict with their neighbors because of this. Changing the chatter volume is one of the most important things you can change in the menu.
