Elan is a traditional racing yacht built to implement the first version of DynaWind, our enhancement of the classic BWind script's functionality. DynaWind provides a dynamic sailing environment with autonomous wind speeds and directions that vary over time. (The system can be switched in and out, so you can still set your own preferred static wind parameters by hand if you prefer.)
DynaWind can also share environment parameters with other suitably-equipped boats within the same region, making racing possible with all boats sailing to the same wind speeds and directions. Please see the .pdf instructions below to get the best out of DynaWind.
Two Elan variants are included: a gaff rig and a Bermudan rig; two passengers can be carried in addition to the captain.
