Behold the remarkable Electronic Looking Glass. A steampunk image display contraption that will dress up the residence of inventors and aristocrats alike.

Messieurs Alphonse de Neuville and Léon Benett have sent me a collection of illustrations they did back in 1872 for Le Tour Du Monde En 80 Jours (Around The World In 80 Days), a book by one Mister Jules Verne. I had the good fortune of attending a stage adaptation of Le Tour Du Monde while in Paris a few years ago, and while in town had occasion to make acquaintance of the artists. After much begging, they have relented to send me a complete set of the illustrations from that original book. I shall set about immediately to build a contraption that can display the images properly.

My original intent was to have included all of the 57 illustrations that were sent. However, as with many pieces of cutting edge technology, certain compromises had to be made in order to provide the best image quality possible. So in order to accommodate the improved resolution of a larger looking glass, I reduced the number of images down to 32.

Please excuse the flickering and horizontal scan lines in the display. While the stimulation of the electrons and focused electro-magnetic control has enabled me to render the images in what would otherwise be considered thin air, the technology does have its limitations. After considerable testing and adjusting of the instruments, I believe that I have reached the proper timing to assure the highest possible image quality with the least possible distraction.
