Disappears few feet back

I got this all fitted onto my head then when i camera'd back just a little bit it completely disappeared.
It turns into a 3 vertice triangle at about ten feet camera distance. Total waste of money.
Here's a pic.....it's the triangle at my feet. You can see i'm not camera'd back very far at all.
