Exo Shuttle

Originally inspired (albeit very loosely) by the Endo-Exo Atmospheric Shuttle used by Inara Serra in the Firefly Series, but slightly larger and adapted to haul cargo between surface to orbit. It can be used in deep space, but its primary purpose was surface to orbit or skyside to dirtside.

The primary design objective was to minimize certain aspects so as to optimize certain features. The other design objective was to maximize the usability of a relatively small footprint shuttle.

The interior is not as luxurious as Inara’s, but there is mobile home and camper trailer park quality bed, toilet, sink, fridge, counter and a microwave. There is also a morgue cold box stasis unit to toss injured people in, because we couldn’t fit a medical bay. The interior living furnishings are in a rezzer located in the front nose of the ship, and automatically unrezzes when the ship takes off and automatically re-rezzes when the ship lands again.

The landing gear automatically unrezzes when the ship takes off and automatically re-rezzes when the ship lands again.

Touch the console in the front of the interior of the ship or the nose prim in the exterior of the ship. A blue pop-up menu should appear telling you which rez scenes you can choose from. Select Options for a second page of options, to turn off or to change who can use the rezzer and fly the ship. The options are owner, group, or public.

Without the landing gear and living interior, the shuttle is only 14 prims, which makes the ship slightly easier to fly and easier to cross sim boundaries. The shuttle has 13 scripts, 688 kb and .044147 ms CPU load. The low prims and relatively low script load makes the ship easier when crossing sim boundaries.

As I understand the rules regarding passengers and prims for physical flight builds, you can add up to 7 more seats for passengers. I have not tested this. If you do, let me know.

When you cross a sim boundary, the scripts all reset, the more scripts and the more CPU load, and the more prims, the harder it is to cross a sim boundary.

Besides the pilot seat, there are three additional seats that people can sit in during flight.

The shuttle is equipped with the Moo Spyker v3.0 cargo controller, so you can haul cargo in the interior of the ship using the drop in script (Cargo Follow Script), up to 4 cargo containers in the interior of the shuttle and up to a dozen on the underside outside of the ship. The shuttle is itself equipped with the drop in script which can be used to have the shuttle dock with another ship. /1 On and /1 Off to pick up and drop off cargo containers, or to have another ship (or mule or hoverscooter) dock with it.

The undercarriage of the shuttle also equipped with a cargo clamp, which measures 7.5 by 5 by 15. Type /1 clamp to toggle the clamp on (if on) and off (if on). It is useful for hauling physical objects (Pro-Tip: and the occasional unsuspecting reaver) which do not have the Moo Spyker Cargo Follow Script. The ship masses just a fraction over 90 tons, the ship will struggle if you if you try to haul more than that with the cargo clamp. This is about 6 standard 2.5x2.5*2.5 metre shipping containers or one big 4.5x4.5x4.5 metre shipping container.

Sit in the forward central pilot seat to fly. If you look during flight, you will notice that the outboard engines move in the direction of the controls and emit energy particles. The ship is very maneuverable, easy to fly and land.

The prims are mod, so you can change their shape or their textures as needed, or add to it.

You can use the Rezzer Child script from the rezzed items to add items to the rezzer located in the nose of the ship which appears as a control console on the ship’s interior. Place the item where you want it, drop in the Rezzer Child script, then take the item into your inventory and drop it in the rezzer prim located in the nose of the ship which appears as a control console on the ship’s interior. Then add the name of the item to the configuration card. Add it to one of the list of rezzed scenes or create a new one with a clever name with an asterisk * in front of the name. If you really want a nice luxurious interior like Inara Sera, then you can do it yourself. The objects have to be copy and modifiable.

The ship has no weapon or armaments, you will have to add that if you feel the need for them. It’s a shuttle, not a fighter jet.

Good luck, have fun.

The prims are copy mod, but not transferable. Some of the scripts are copy only, but not modifiable or transferable.
