A brief definition of Yin Yang....
Yin represents a wide range of energies that balance those of Yang. While Yin is considered the dark energy, it does not necessarily represent evil. In addition to darkness, it also stands for femininity, winter, intuition, stillness, softness, coldness, mountains, fire, lifeblood and creation.

Yang is the balancing force of Yin and is thus considered the light energy. However, this does not necessarily mean that Yang should be equated solely to goodness. Yang also embodies masculinity, hardness, rivers, logic, spirit, water, serenity and disintegration.
