Have you ever spent some time inside a skydome in a region with day cycle on ? Most skydomes (not to say : all the skydomes I've seen in sl) aren't synchronized with that day cycle ; so there have been two solutions so far :
- set your viewer settings to a fixed sky of your choice (and ask your guests to do the same if they don't want it to look odd)
OR
- manually set the skydome texture (many times...) according to the time of day
Yeah... that kinda sucked...
THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM ANYMORE !
I made this skydome to imitate a realistic smoothly changing sky, with moving clouds and gorgeous light effects, perfectly synchronized with the region day cycle. Some even told me they liked it better than sl's default sky.
Already great, isn't it ? But not over yet !
When I was making it, someone told me : "Hey cool ! How about different weather conditions ?" And I thought : "Well, since I've already spent hours working on it, why not spending a few more ? Better now than later, after all..."
Result : this skydome, while still synchronized with region day cycle, also offers different weather settings (clear sky, clouds, cloudy sky, snow fall, rain and thunder) ; and we know how difficult it can be to get a decent bad weather in sl ! Besides, the weather conditions can be set to randomly and automatically change every hour according to the current season, to imitate rl weather.

N.B. :
- Li is 26 ;
- when rezzing the dome, make sure the red spot on the hull is facing east ;
- In the 251x251 version, because of SL's range limits, the rain and snow effects can't fill the whole area.
