Face12 - Gorgone - Relief for builder, spirit & art

This head of a Gorgon was once attached to the gable of the main temple of the sacred springs of Bath in England. He combines the traditional with the Celtic belief.

Medusa was originally a beguiling beauty. But Pallas Athena was amazed at this for a dalliance with Poseidon, she was so angry that she the mistress into a winged monster with snake hair, long canine teeth, scale armor, glowing eyes and lolling tongue, turned, so did their sisters of the Gorgons.
