[Fairport] Nodachi
=======================
Real Life History and Specs:
Type of weapon: Sword
Origin: Japan
Time period: Approximately 1615 to 1700's
The nodachi is one of the largest Japanese-styles of swords; it's name, though roughly translated means "field sword," is close to the Japanese word 'odachi' which means "large" or "great sword." The nodachi because of it's long blade and grip is definitely a two handed weapon and not for everyone either as it required much more skill to wield effectively in combat than a regular katana as well as strength from the user to move the blade with ease. Nodachi swords are relatively rare in that not many were made; due to it's long blade these swords could only be made by the best of the best sword smiths, those who could master making such a long blade without compromising it's durability and integrity were rare. Because of this, the nodachi was essentially replaced on the battlefield by polearms such as the yari and naginata as they were easier to produce and could be wielded easier as well. The purpose of the nodachi was essentially to counter mounted enemies, though again was replaced with polearms such as the yari and naginata which could do this with more efficiency as the user required less skill and training to wield said weapons. Interestingly enough, when nodachis were fielded in battle they were sometimes used by mounted infantry as well to sweep groups of enemies to inflict massive casualties; the weapon being guided and assisted by the movement of the horse, (presumably charging,) the rider needing less energy to wield than using the weapon alone on foot.

Function / Command
**Please note, if you wish to damage, make sure you are enabled in damage mode; ie: if you are in push mode switch to damage by using the 'enable damage mode' command. There are three settings for damage once you have enabled this mode: low, high, fatal. Damage is determined by the mass of your enemy. That's right, the larger or smaller your enemy avatar's mass alters the amount of damage one can do to them in a Linden damage zone. On average, however, low does about 7-13% damage on a hit, high does 30-40% on a hit, and fatal does 80-100% damage on a hit.
