Fifth Anniversary Gift : Thames Spritsail Barge Nr.210 'Celeste' Version 7.2d [ April 17, 2022 ]

To celebrate five years of shipbuilding in Second Life Lili's Yard is delighted to present our free gift the Thames spritsail barge Nr.210, 'Celeste' for all our lovely much-appreciated supporters.

'Celeste' is the sister ship to Nr.209 'Matilda' but unlike her payware sister 'Celeste' sails without DynaWind and some of the other functionality present in the payware models; in all other respects she a full Mark II sail barge. Being freely available to all she will serve as The Thames Barge Association of Second Life's flagship.

Under load (choose from hay, sand, stone, rubble, coal or manure, all typical Thames barge loads) the vessel sinks down in the water in prototypical fashion. Loads are controlled from the HUD. Improved boat rolling motion has been scripted. The topsail, foresail, jib and staysails can all be set or brailed separately to suit the sailing conditions. [Please ensure that you have un-ticked the 'Advanced Lighting Model' option on your 'Preferences' Graphics tab because the barge's holds are full depth. This means they are below the default Second Life waterline; un-checking the Advance Lighting Model removes (hides actually) the water which would otherwise show within the holds.]
