A monstrance is the vessel used in the Roman Catholic, Old Catholic, and Anglican churches to display the consecrated Eucharistic host, during Eucharistic adoration or Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Created in the medieval period for the public display of relics, the monstrance today is usually restricted for vessels used for hosts. The word monstrance comes from the Latin word monstrare, meaning "to show", and is cognate with the English word demonstrate, meaning "to show clearly".

This Montrance is a variant of the monstrance of the treasury of the former Cathedral "Of Our Dear Lady" in SL-Munich. Currently it's the only working monstrance in Second Life (since 07/11).

Host and lunula are separate hideable via menu. In this way, a suspension will be carried out at the solemnities of the Blessed Sacrament, and on other days only the empty Monstrance as part of the Treasury will be shown.

The Monstrance is constructed entirely of gold, four large, four middle and eight small beams including coated the Blessed Sacrament in their midst. The Golden Ring is the symbol of the earth circle. The eight small beams are the symbol for the seven days of creation plus the day of the baptism of Jesus. The four middle beams are the symbol of the four Evangelists, the authors of the canonical Christian gospels in the New Testament, which carried the good news in the world. And the four major beams are the symbol for the Calvary Cross. All beams together show the illumination of the earth and are a sign of the resurrection of Christ.

The host shows the crucified Jesus and is protected by two marie glass lids.

Like all my other products, so this one is also controlled via menu.
As usual, you can (as owner) hide and unhide the lunula and the host independent of each other. Also integrated is a decent light and a resizer, witch can be also controlled with this menu.
