Fireplace Sound Generator 1.0

Welcome to Fireplace Sound Generator 1.0!

This object is a spherical transparent prim that contains a high-fidelity looping sound recording of a warm, cozy, crackling fire. It is different from the usual short-loop fireplace sounds found on SecondLife in that the total loop length is 1:48. This means it sounds much more realistic and therefore will create a greater sense of warmth and well being in your SL home! (Or wherever you choose to install it).

The Fireplace Sound Generator 1.0 is not intended to be distractingly loud, and hence, may not be as loud as some other fireplace sounds found on SL, but should be just the right volume for comfortable background ambience (even sitting near the fire).

Installation is easy. Once you unpack the Fireplace Sound Generator 1.0, navigate to its folder in your inventory, and then drag the object onto your land in the location of the fireplace (or wherever you want a fireplace sound). It should begin making sound a few seconds later. After that, it is simply switched on or off by touching it.

Adjusting the position or size of the Fireplace Sound Generator 1.0 is also easy. Just press Ctrl-Alt-T in order to see transparent objects, right-click on the object and choose edit. You can then move it to exactly where you wish.

In order to make it possible to stretch the object into different sizes (or potentially changing its shape), it has permissions set to Modify/Copy. The contents, however, are set to Copy only.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of server lag, the sounds may be a bit broken up the first time around. This should smooth out by the second loop and thereafter. The audio stream consists of 12 9-second files in specific order.
