Fruit bat to fly around your property flapping its wings and best of all you get to easily control where it flies. Control it using a menu and spoken commands in local chat.

Get Started

To get started rez the bat on the ground and touch it for a menu.

When the bat is flying touch it to stop the flight, and then touch it again to get the menu. Alternatively you can say "bat stop", then touch for a menu, or say "bat menu".

To start the bat flying select “Fly” from the menu or say "bat fly".

Features

• Realistic flying bat with sculptie body and flexi wings
• Flies randomly or over a pre-set path
• The path can set by menu or notecard
• Any number of points in a flight path
• It can even fly over an entire sim
• Commands to call it to you or even kill it
• Menu and chat command controlled
• Full user guide

Flight Paths

At any time you can check what the current flight path is using the “Show Path” menu option.

There are several different ways to set the flight path.

Set Individually
You can set each individual location for a flight path my moving the bat and using the menu.
Move the bat to the first point in the desired flight path then touch it to get the menu.
First remove all the previous flight path points using the “Clear Path” menu option then select “Set Point”.
Next move the bat to the next point in the flight path and select “Set Point” again. Repeat this until all the points in the flight path are set.

Random
Select the maximum range and centre from the menu. The bat will fly between random points within this circle.
For example to set a random flight path within 10m of where the bat is currently positioned touch the bat to get a menu, select “Random” then select “Within 10m” followed by “Set Centre”.

Notecard Flight Path
Set locations in the notecard “Flight Path”. Locations may be either in regional coordinates or local.
For local locations the points will be relative to where the bat was first rezzed.
The notecard may also contain comments which have a # character in the front of the line.

Commands

You can control the bat with a number commands spoken or shouted in local chat:

bat stop
- When the bat is flying this will stop the bat flying and flapping. This makes it easier to catch or to operate the touch menu
bat menu
- When the bat is stopped this will open the menu
bat fly
- When the bat is stopped it will cause it to resume flying and flapping
bat come
- When the bat is flying this make it fly towards you
bat die
- When the bat is flying this kill it: It will stop flying and flapping, fall out of the sky and dissappear after around a minute
bat explode
- When the bat is flying this cause it to explode and disappear; this is a bit violent really

Limitations

The bat will not fly out of the current region. If a random point is set outside the region it will only fly up to the boundary.
If you use a notecard to set the flight path the bat must be rezzed within 20m of one of the points, otherwise it will not start flying. This is to stop the bat flying off and getting lost.

Randomness

The bat will fly towards each point in its flight path in short steps each randomly deviating from the straight path.
Every so often the bat will notice someone and fly to them before resuming their flight path.
The bat will occasionally reverse its flight path.

OMG, they are awesome and look great flying around the sim, and they run into you and into my cats and seriously awesome bats. I am so happy I got them, and they are a great price! Highly recommended. Perfect for Halloween or a creepy or gothic sim.

I've seen, and purchased, a few flying birds (or, in this case, mammals) and there are a few good ones, but most tend to fall short of expectations. Not these, though. A few of the good points:

* They look realistic
* They're actually to scale
* Flight is good and realistic (as real as can be had in SL)
* Easy to set up a flight path or random flight
* You can have multiple bats each flying on its own
* I love the "come" command
* The price is incredible

Highly recommended if you need bats.
