Easily set up an auction for any item, avatar or service in game, sold to the highest bidder!
Key Features:
* Only one prim.
* Copyable, modifiable box (script is copy-only).
* Multiple auction boxes may be used near each other if desired (a random menu channel is used).
* Note card Configuration lets you set:
- Item/person/service name
- Minimum L$ bid
- Minimum L$ increment
- Auction length (in minutes)
- UUID of partner to split auction L$ with (optional)
- Split percentage (optional)
- Option to give item automatically from Auction Box's contents to auction winner
- Option to display remaining auction time in float text
- Option to send a message to another avatar (e.g., the subject of an auction)
- Option to automatically restart an auction after it ends
* Owner Menu lets you start an auction, end one early (current high bidder wins) or cancel the auction (current high bid is returned).
* Bids are automatically and immediately returned when an avatar is outbid by another.
* The current high bidder is announced and also displayed in float text above the box and when the box is clicked.
* The auction winner is announced and also displayed in float text above the box and when the box is clicked.
Setup:
1. Rez the Fnordian Auction Box.
2. Right-click and edit the box, click the Content tab.
3. Open the config notecard and fill in the following fields:
* NAME=
Enter the name of the object, avatar, or service up for auction.
* MINIMUM=
Enter the minimum L$ amount for the starting bid. This number must be 1 or higher.
* INCREMENT=
Enter the minimum L$ increment for each bid. This number must be 1 or higher.
* LENGTH=
Enter the number of minutes you want the auction to run.
* PARTNER=
If you want to split the L$ received from the auction with someone else, enter their UUID key here. This person will be sent an IM with the auction winner details (name of winner, item, winning bid) along with the L$. Note that they won't receive any L$ until the auction concludes. If you aren't splitting the L$, leave this blank.
* PERCENT=
Enter a percent for the L$ split (if any). e.g., 0.25 means 25%. Leave this at 0.0 if you aren't splitting it.
* GIVE_ITEM=
Enter YES or NO here. If you enter YES and place an item in the Auction Box's inventory it will automatically be given out to the winner of the auction. Note that the *first* object found in inventory is given out and any others are ignored (and the item's name does *not* need to match the name entered in the notecard). Clothing and other non-objects must be boxed first.
IMPORTANT: You must have transfer permission or the item can't be transferred. If the item is not copyable but is transferable, it will vanish from the Auction Box's inventory after being given to the winner.
* DISPLAY_TIME=
Enter YES or NO here. If you enter YES then the current remaining auction time will be displayed in the float text above the box once the auction has been started.
* AUCTIONED_AVATAR_KEY=
Enter the key of an avatar here if they are the subject of the auction (e.g., auctioning a date with someone) and you want them to receive an IM when the auction concludes.
* AUTO_RESTART=
Enter the number of seconds after which the auction will automatically restart itself after ending. Enter a value of 0 for no auto restart. If an auction is ended manually or cancelled it won't automatically restart until a new auction is started and ends on its own. Example: If you enter 60, then after an auction ends it will restart again one minute later.
Note: If the Auction Box is set to give an item and no objects are found in its contents, auto restart (if set) will be cancelled. If the auction is for a no-copy object, it will only be able to give it once unless you put multiple objects in the contents (it would give the first one found each time).
4. Save the config notecard. To be sure it has saved changes you should wait about 10 seconds before closing it (may be even longer on laggy sims or slow connections), and then re-open the notecard and verify that the information has been updated. Alternatively you can edit the config notecard in your personal inventory and then replace the one in the Auction Box.
6. Edit the "Auction Info" notecard to include information about the auction. This notecard will be given out whenever anyone *other* than the owner touches the box. If you don't want an info notecard to be given out, rename it or delete it from the Auction Box. To have the Auction Box give you a copy of the notecard, click "Info" from the Auction Box menu.
