The idea behind the FDC, is that while it is a multiple-person dance machine ( and will allow upto 30 people to dance at the same time ), your not all 'locked' into doing the same dance.
Every single dancer has the ability to select any one of the dances that are contained within the device, and this is what makes it slightly different from other Chimeras you may have seen.

Every new dancer is handed a copy, and when worn, it will allow them to access the Free-Dance-Chimera menu, by just clicking the button on their desktop!
Firstly, dancing IS NOT synchronized.
Personally, i find it a bit odd, to walk into a room to see a dozen people all doing the same dance, in perfect time together. This is not how people dance normally! ( with the exception of line-dancing, granted )
Dancing should be about free expression, every one should be free to dance at their own pace, and choose their own dance too, and that is what i have tried to recreate with this dance machine.
Secondly, each individual dancer gets to choose which dance they want to.
The dancer touches the device, and will be asked for 'permission to animate'.
Once given, the device returns the friendly message ( in IM only, so as not to spam other dancers )
'Welcome <<first name>>, you are now dancing the <<name of animation>> with Free-Dance-Chimera, touch me again to change or stop the dance!'
the next time the dancer touches the device, they are provided with a menu, which will allow them to either Stop, or select from any other animations you have placed in the device.
When the dancer changes their dance, they are informed the name of the dance they have selected
and when the dancer hits the 'Stop' button, they receive a pleasant goodbye message,
'Thanks for using the Free-Dance-Chimera <<first name>>, hope to see you again soon.'
This device has a capacity for 30 dancers, and an unlimited number of animations.
20 free dances are supplied with the device, although you are also free to add your own.
The device also contains an integrity checking routine, so every 30 minutes, the device checks to make sure that the people who have started dancing, are still dancing.
( so people who teleport out, or crash, will be automatically removed from the devices memory, freeing up space for other dancers )
This device can be used in two ways, either rez the device in world, and hang it on the wall, or wear it, and it will shrink itself down, become invisible, and attach itself to your right hip!
