It sucks it does not do hills or curves I don't know why the creator doesn't make premade templates with hills and 45% angles so we don't have to mess around to see the buss make spinney time all F#%# day long on a hill or a curve.
I spent so much time on this lousy thing. In 7 years this has to be far most the worst product on here I have got frustrated with. I have a horse and carriage tour that records coordinates and stop for nothing and it was 100x better then this bus that doesn't work. I don't buy any more of this persons things until they fix the lousy bus system.
Works and Looks Great
I have this running a large loop along the roadways of 3 adjacent sims: Inverness City, Urquhart and Loch Ness. It only ever seems to be upset now and then by update Tuesdays, and very rarely fails any other time, however it did take some time and a lot of patience to set out the markers for smooth cornering, although that is mostly because my route is very long!
The Bus stops can be set for the bus to announce where it is, which is helpful for pointing out the locations of rental properties or regular events.
The delivered package also contains a bus texture which was easily adapted, using nothing more complicated than a screenshot and MS Paint, to update the bus with my own logos and text.
Many thanks for the "wee bus" as we call it locally - it gets a lot of fun use by many sim visitors.
Good for straight lines - fails utterly at curves
The review title says it all really. Wonderful system to set up and use if the bus is to travel in a straight line. As soon as you need it to go around a corner, the navigation becomes exceedingly hit and miss. Half the time the bus fails to make the corner. And it's not even reproducible. It will work find on a corner (after ages spent tweaking it so the bus is happy and doesn't give up), and then suddenly fail. And if it fails a few times, the script borks and the bus will no longer accept a click from the owner. Truly miserable system for anything more than straight lines. Also, if you want to run a bus line so cornering crosses the path of the return route, when the bus comes to that junction... guess what happens? Yup, the bus doesn't prioritise the next marker in a straight line from it - it goes the the marker off to the side and gets horribly confused. Also, if you do get it to turn, it does not turn nicely - it is not a smooth turn - it jumps corner angles - so from straight to the next angle without any smooth movement between. Pretty disappointed.
Dangit.
This has GOT to be one of the COOLEST things in SL. Seriously! I'm having a time arranging the route markers to make it work every time, but this is really really neat, and well worth every Linden! Now if I just had a garbage truck to follow the same route... XD
