An intricate console table in carved wood painted off-white and a serpentine top of breech violet marble top.

English early 18th century, it is decorated with a frieze with vitruvian scrolls, a long central heraldic medallion surrounded by rocaille, garlands of vines and bunches of grapes, all supported by four legs terminating in mythological dolphins spouting water from their mouths.

Commissioned for the Lascelles family for the decoration of Gawthorpe Hall prior to the construction of Harewood House.
