I added script to an item. Then added item. All I get is a script error

Works. There is another script in the object and they do not conflict.

After going through about 6 scripts and 2000 linden, I finally found this script that does exactly what I need it to and it was super simple.

If you have more than one notecard/item in the object, just add an additional script per item and make sure you write the item name inside of the script so it can give it to the person who touches.

to get it to work
for anyone having issues getting the script to work...open the script & you will see a line that reads "YOUR ITEM NAME HERE", remove the text & add the name of the item between the " "
