Glossy Lacquer Painted Nails
(Compatible with Beautiful Feet - Leather Bangles)
History of Painting Nails:
About as early as 3,000 - 4,000 BC we find the first common practice of painting nails. Ancient Incas, Chinese, & Egyptians all used nail polish, most often both men & women. However, it can be assumed that the practice dates quite a bit further back. Stone age tribes we are able to study today, sometimes use this custom.
Incas would glue gold dust on their nails in the forms of animals, usually eagles.
Egyptians used henna to die both fingers and nails red. It was a symbol of status.
Chinese used a mixture of Arabic gum, egg whites, gelatin, and beeswax. They would then add in parts of flowers to make them scented, and gold & silver to add shine and glitter.
By the time of the Assyrians and the Minoan Greeks, the first Lacquered nails were being used. The Lacquer was made of, amongst other ingredients, crushed insects.
During the Hellenistic Greek period, and later even in some Muslim tribes today, they would use a combination of henna to tattoo their hands & feet, and lacquer to paint their nails.
In creating these Lacquer Nails, I have used PSD layers to produce the glossy shiny look. Though each individual nail is an extremely tiny graphic file of only a few pixels, each nail has both shadow and highlighting layers added to the base color.
Included in this pack are 15 tattoo layers & 15 Glove layers. Each layer I named after the base color used. The final colors differ somewhat, depending on your viewer.
