Have you ever noticed how versatile the word "boot" is? It can describe all sorts of footwear from a child's wellingtons to a cowboy's best friends. And you can wear your boots while you're booting a can down the street. Or maybe you'll pull them off and throw them in the boot of your car. (And we all had to boot up our computers to get here, hmm?)
Grandpa Octavius always claimed to be a cohort of Kid Curry, the famous outlaw with the quick gun. But Grandpa Octavius was a bit, as Gramma Lenora would whisper, 'touched in the head'. We all smiled and encouraged him to tell his stories though, cause it made Grandpa happy and helped him relax and digest his food. Coincidentally, his favorite dish was lamb curry... there's food for thought.
But in truth, Grandpa Octavius was a cowboy of sorts in his own way. He did manage a fine job of mending the fences, tending the yard and keeping the roof shingled. All while wearing his favorite old boots. Well, Grandpa Octavius has now gone to his reward; unfortunately his delicate old age had an argument with a particularly fiery curry one fateful night, and he lost. The family considered upturning his boots on a couple of fence posts, an old cowboy tradition, but well - Grandpa Octavius wasn't quite normal and we decided the fate of his boots should be as quirky as he was. I told Gramma Lenora my idea, and she laughed in agreement. And so! May I present to you the reincarnation of Grandpa's boots! I do hope you get a kick out of it!
