Grand Antichambre - Full Pack

The collection "Grand Antichambre" contains all the furniture Marie Antoinette used in her Antichambre at château de Petit Trianon.
The decor of the anteroom is sober. The walls are paneled over their entire height and painted in aqua green with white paint
The anteroom is sometimes called the “buffet room” or “stove room”. In fact, from the start, two large tiled stoves were placed on each side of the door leading to the dining room, which also helped to heat the room without spoiling the luxurious decoration of this reception area. They then gave way to two false doors covered with mirrors, restored in the 20th century.
One of the most famous paintings representing Marie-Antoinette is exhibited in the anteroom. This oil on canvas by Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun, appointed painter to the Queen, is nicknamed Marie-Antoinette with the rose.

The collection contains:
Riesener Commode (7 LI)
This commode (or chest-of-drawers) by Jean-Henri Riesener (1734-1806) can be dated to circa 1782, and was delivered to Marie Antoinette for her apartment at the chateau of Marly in March of that year. Consisting of swags and interlaced garlands of naturalistic flowers, these jewel-like mounts incorporate also an exquisite marquetry in the central part.
The marble top is replaceable, so you can have the marble texture of your choosing.
Six marble busts of Roman Emperors (1 LI each)
Beautiful busts of Julius Caesar and Emperors Antoninus Pius, Caracalla, Hadrian, Septimius Severus and Trajan made out white Carrara marble and delicate pink marble. The busts seats on a pedestal that has the inscription in Latin at the bottom.
Neoclassical Frame (3 LI)
Magnificent Louis XVI frame that hangs in the antichambre of the Petit Trianon. It is decorated with the cresting with a ribbon-tied arrow-filled quiver and torch, flanked by foliate garlands with flowerheads.
The portrait of Marie-Antoinette is replaceable, so you can replace it with the painting of your choosing.
Louis XVI Clock (1 LI)
This clock, with mechanism placed in gilt bronze and glass housing, is of a frequent type at the end of the reign of Louis XVI. These mechanisms often bear the signature of the Lépine or Lepaute watchmakers. They were made by Nicolas Sotiau, master watchmaker in 1782. This clock probably corresponds to the one delivered for the Cabinet du Conseil de Louis XVI in Château de Saint-Cloud.
Golden Lantern (4 LI)
Ravishing lantern in gilded bronze and curved glass in Louis XVI style. Cylindrical lantern with 8 lights, decorated with knotted ribbons, the base is decorated with a frieze. Lantern like these were place in Vestibules and Grand staircases and then spread to rooms like antechambers.
Half Column Pedestal (2 LI)
Contains both versions
Pedestals in the shape of the half of the column were fashionable in the later half of the 18th century. They were usually used to place busts, vases or sometimes candelabras.
Console table (3 LI)
This console table bears the mark of the "Garde-Meuble privé de la Reine". Drawings for the table are inspired by a print by the ornamentalist Jean-François de Neufforge (1714-1791) from 1768.
Sconce (1 LI)
This set of wall lights was adapted from an existing model in order to match the decor of Louis XVI’s bedchamber at the Château de Saint-Cloud, for which the four wall lights were commissioned.
Ostrich egg Vase (1 LI)
The ostrich eggs placed in decorative frames were very popular in 18th century France. This one was placed in "Goût Grec" style framing with garlands of flowers and goat heads.
