You're a sim's greeter, and you're called away to somewhere else on the grid. While you're gone, someone visits your home sim and there's no one there to talk to them...What can you do??
If GreetAfar had been running, you would have been informed of the visitor's entry and given a link to their profile. Then you could return and greet them in person, or if you're not able to do that, IM them.
GreetAfar is also useful if you simply want to monitor who is visiting your sim in real time.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO REZ OBJECTS IN THE PARCEL YOU WISH TO MONITOR! And not just things that get returned in a few minutes, either!
GreetAfar is the Greeter's helper. It:
-- Tells you when someone visits your sim and when they leave, and gives you a link to their profile.
-- Allows you to easily set the time interval between scans
-- Can be turned on and off with a touch from you. When it's off it it uses almost no resources
-- Automatically stops scanning when you log off, and resumes scanning when you return
-- Does not bother you with notifications while you are in the home sim or offline
-- Allows you to provide a list of names of people you don't want to be notified about
-- Is a small script that uses 16k of memory and can be dropped into any mod, unscripted prim that you own.
-- Reports only visitors to the parcel in which it is placed, NOT the entire region
GreetAfar DOES NOT:
-- Talk to visitors or give them notecards.
-- Function as a security device to limit access to your sim
- Automatically turns off and on as when you log out and back
- Customize scanning interval to fit your needs
- Includes ready-to-use version and copy script
- Won't pester you while you're in the parcel
- Easy to switch between idle and reporting modes
