INTRODUCTION:
Time to take a trip to the 80s with this arcade machine. Drive the infinite retro-wave highway in style while enjoying sweet synth music while avoiding those evil lag spikes.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
HOW DOES IT WORK:
When a player sits down on the arcade, the game will start, and the words "GET READY" will appear. The player will get control of the bike and can move the vehicle left or right by pressing the arrows. The game starts off extremely slow, and pink triangles called lag spikes will appear and grow as they get closer to the player.
The player must avoid lag spikes by steering away from them. If they get hit once, then it is game over.
Every three minutes the game levels up, and it gets a bit faster (maximum speed is at level 10). A neon blue hot air balloon will travel three minutes from left to right on the screen.
Players earn 1 point every mile they travel, 10 points per lag spike they avoid, and 100 points per level.
If the player dies or the player stands up, their score will be stored.
Players can change music (or mute) if they press the page up or down buttons.

It's Official. I Love Grimly Fiendish!
I always get excited when I see a notification for a new Grimly Fiendish game release. They are one of the best if not THE best creator of scripted games that I've come across in Second Life. Games makers in Second Life are really far and few between which is a shame.
Anyways Retro Rider... I'm really into retro games and this one really fits the bill and takes me back to when I was a nipper frequenting the arcades at weekend visits to the seaside.
Unbelievable that it is scripted purely in Second Life and not hosted on the web as most seem to be. I and my patrons will be enjoying this game for a while no doubt.
On playing, I'd like to make a few suggestions for future updates if I may be so bold as to enhance the game even further if they are doable.
I'd love the speed of the game to gradually increase, there seemed to be no difficulty as such and I found I was just crashing purpously to finish my game. Would love to see some sort of motion on the wheels of the bike or some dirt kicked up from the back wheel to enhance the motion as it does look quite static. Maybe some different music tracks for each game instead of just the one, and a short attract mode sound when the game isn't being played to grab visitors' attention.
One more general suggestion for your games with High Scores...I'd love to reward players for their high scores and would like to see the option of paying small L$ prizes to the high scorers on a daily, weekly or monthly contest basis. I get it if that's not Grimly Fiendish's way, it is purely a suggestion.
Looking forward to seeing what Grimly come up with next...
