Gunrunner's Depot .41 Derringer

Thank you for your interest in Gunrunner's Depot .41 Derringer!
The Derringer (properly spelled with only one R) was a very compact weapon popular in the late 19th century. The design originated with a New England gunsmith by the name of Henry Deringer, and was initially a single-shot, percussion weapon, designed to be a very small and concealable. It is likely the very first true 'pocket pistol', in that it could actually fit in one's pocket. The original Deringer pistol's greatest claim to fame (or infamy) was it's use by JW Booth in the assassination of Lincoln.
In 1866 Remington revitalized the design, adding a second barrel and chambering the weapon for the rather anemic .41 rimfire round. Wildly inaccurate beyond point-blank, the heavy bullet nevertheless had sufficient power to kill at card-table ranges, and the new Derringers became very popular with people who needed to be armed but didn't wish to advertise the fact, such as the stereotypical 'riverboat gambler', or streetwalkers. More then a few famed gunfighters were also known to have carried Derringers as backup weapons. The sound advice of "The first rule of a gunfight is have a gun" very much applies to the Derringer, as while it was underpowered and inaccurate, it was definitely a gun.
This particular model is a representation of the Remington Double Derringer produced around 1870. At 52 prims it is an accurate and well-detailed replica of this famous weapon, and would work well with any persona from the wild west on up to steampunk or film noir.
The Derringer incorporates the latest LoLSBS technology, meaning that you can easily load any LoLSBS bullet into the weapon to customize it's use. The system is also quite tolerant of homemade or aftermarket rounds, so virtually any bullet you can copy can be used in your Derringer. This makes the weapon an incredibly powerful and versatile package, combining high-quality good looks with a wide array of combat capacity.

Comically Huge
The gun is ridiculously huge and the bullets travel only slightly faster than an avatar can run. Complete waste of lindens.
