What better way can there be to celebrate the imminent release of WAARHEID than some very tenuously linked movie merchandise? I present to you the HHAX portable 8-Track Player.
The regular version of this nostalgic device will be coming out in 2023, but right now – if you’re quick! – you can grab a limited edition, movie branded version for free! I’ve placed 200 of these no mod, no copy, transfer enabled bad boys here for L$0. When they’re gone, they’re gone!
To be clear, this item appears *absolutely nowhere* in the movie and is of *no relevance whatsoever* to the plot. Notwithstanding these minor details, SL vendor HHAX (me) reached out to HAXINIMA (also me) with the following: “Hey there, we heard you’re making a movie where some small sub-plot mechanism involves recovering information from obsolete media. We happen to have a bunch of reject 8-Track players (obsolete enough for you?) taking up space in the warehouse – they work just fine but we got the dye colour wrong. Fancy doing an ‘exclusive movie deal’? LOL”
Hands were shaken. Contracts were signed. Cigars were smoked over a hearty liquid luncheon.
Oh yes, and if you click on it, it plays a single line of dialogue from the movie. I would have included more, but the cheaply done moulding is so bad on the cartridge that anything over fourteen inches of magnetic tape snags and gets screwed up.
