Hammerstone Spell Effect:

One of the Challenges in RP magic and spell use in Second Life is that the application of magic and magic use is largely limited to different types of damage or bonuses that affect the meter. Most magic items and huds are scripted to do Spell Fire damage of some form or another, and magic is largely relegated to a form of advanced, frequently overpowered, weapon use.

In many ways, this emphasis on damage and raw power has unfortunately overshadowed the other aspects of magic that are more creative and imaginitive. . .forms of magic that are generally portrayed in RP, but are frequently overlooked or ignored. Second Life, being a primarily VISUAL medium, relies on visual effects to emphasize the fascinating and arcane. The Mage who excels in RP over combat is frequently limited in his Role Play, as there are few tools available for him to use other than the devastating damage dealing weapons.

So comes the Hammerstone Spell Effect to address this issue. The Hammerstone Spell Effect has been created to provide mage, cleric, druid and other magical RPers with a tool to enhance their RP with simple animations and particle effects, without having an effect on the Spell Fire Meter. No damage, no healing, no stamina cost, no meter implicatiosn whatsoever.

The Spell Effect includes a worn object as well as a controller HUD. The HUD four rows of buttons which give the spell caster near limitless options of colors and shapes to use to accentuate their magic RP. Since there is no combat associated cooldown, colors and shapes can be blended to form unique combinations for the caster.

So, now Shapechangers can employ a magical effect for their transofrmations. Demons can shroud themselves in beams of darkness as they gate to a nether realm. Clerics can gleam with divine light as their gods empower them to remove curses.

Users are cautioned to be mindful of other players and not overuse the effects in every day RP, as it not only can be annoying, but it minimizes the impressiveness of the effects. It is also prudent to make sure that you have reviewed your Sims guidelines to insure that there are no bans for non damage
