The Maverick hat is non rigged mesh and can be resized with the resize script or from the edit window to fit your avatar.
To change the color of the hat simply touch it to bring up the menu, choose appearance and pick your color. To cut down on any lag the scripts might cause, you can delete the scripts from the contents folder of the hat you wear, as the hat is fully modify.
