The student societies at the Academy for Research and Scientific Exploration were renowned for their wild parties and daring exploits, but even amongst them the Bacchanalian Society had an extreme reputation. They were long suspected to have been behind the huge fire at the Academy in 2012, but no proof was ever discovered.

Nine years later, the latest intake was thought by many to be dabbling with the occult. After one particularly booze fueled party, the students weren't seen for almost a week, and when they did eventually reappear, they had changed. Their dress style was noticeably eccentric, and where before they had simply indulged in high jinks, now their behaviour bordered on the criminal. Oddly, each pair seemed to fit their crimes to one of the so called Seven Deadly Sins.
