Hello and thanks for your interest in my products!
This is a fully sculpted carefull re-creation of a hohokam dog-shaped censer. It uses a subtle texture that mimics the looks of the traditional hohokam red ware ceramics. Animal-shaped vases or censers were common among the hohokam and the dog was among the most common motives (along the deer and armadillo).
This object was specifically designed with historical or roleplay sims in mind, but will make for good interior decor for those who want to add a fancy precolumbian touch to their house. For such a complex sculpt, it is only 4 prims, so it will certainly help you to keep your overall primcount low.
The hohokam are one of the major precolumbian native american cultures for what is now the american southwest. In North America, the Hohokam were the only culture to rely on irrigation canals to water their crops, and their irrigation systems supported the largest population in the Southwest by AD 1300.
This advanced culture had a very advanced pottery tradition. Hohokam ceramics are defined by a distinct Plain, Red, and Decorated ware tradition. Overall Hohokam pottery was made from a small fine clay base connected to a series of coils that were thinned and shaped using the paddle and anvil technique.
Enjoy!
