The HostAssist is a single-prim attachable device providing a variety of features for those who host events. This release provides: 'loudspeaker' (2 methods), floating text titler in your choice of colors, ghost lights in your choice of colors, automatic notification of new arrivals to your event, automatic greetings for those new arrivals, and for those who enjoy roleplay, emotes and out-of-character (OOC) chat.
HostAssist can be attached to the head, chest, or spine and adjusted so that floating text will be displayed *above* your avatar; other attachment points are possible, but could wave the text madly whenever the attachment point moves.
The HostAssist does not need to be attached to your avatar to work (just drop it nearby), however any floating text or ghostlights will be displayed above the HostAssist, rather than your avatar. Even when visible, it can be hard to find, but if you turn on floating text you should have no problems :)
HostAssist will listen on four channels for input (set by a configuration notecard): a command channel, a shout channel, an emote channel, and an Out of Character (OOC) channel. Text sent to the command channel will be interpreted as commands to HostAssist, text sent to the shout channel will be converted to upper case and shouted, text sent to the emote channel will be displayed as emote text, and text sent to the OOC channel will be displayed as OOC text.
