Hover-Ring & Hover-Pod are fast in-region transportation devices which allow travel between any number of Callpoints. Hover-Ring is a 5-seater craft with a diameter of 5m, whereas Hover-Pod is a 2-seater craft with a length of just 3m.

Single-prim Callpoints are placed at locations where the Hover-Craft is to land, and each Callpoint registers its position and orientation with the Hover-Craft. The Callpoints are used both to call the Hover-Craft, and to select the destination. Passengers sit on the cushions on the Hover-Craft (though more can hitch a ride if necessary). Usage can be set to public or group, and specific agent limitations can be set on a data notecard.

Hover-Crafts provide an exciting alternative to in-region TP portals and sit-targets. They have been extensively tested on a number of sims which offer multiple venues, such as islands, railways, schools, skyboxes. Hover-Ring has even been used as a lift in a tower-block. Although the hovercrafts are restricted to a single sim, it is easy to set up connection stations at sim boundaries for passengers to transfer to another craft.

In order both to provide a visually-satisfying experience for short distance travel, and to avoid delays for longer distances, the Hover-Crafts employ two methods of movement. Where horizontal movement is dominant, a sequence of commands moves the Hover-Craft at a speed of about 50m/s (180 kph,112 mph), but if the vertical movement exceeds an owner-defined threshold, the journey is near-instantaneous, except for the smooth initial lift-off and final landing.

In addition to direct travel to destinations, Hover-Crafts can give a perimeter tour of the land, when enabled by the owner, and also has a manual control mode.

The Hover-Craft itself offers two dialogue menus: a destination menu the same as the Callpoints, and a Control menu (owner only), which can be used to set preferences. An invisible avatar attachment is also provided for the owner to list all callpoints and to call the Hover-Craft to current position.
