The icosahedron is constructed from 20 equilateral triangular prims of true side 0.5m (scale 0.57735 = 1/Sqrt3), which are positioned with geometrical precision by script (not supplied). The version shown on the left is constructed so that all the outer surfaces are correctly positioned, so that no prim thickness is visible, but the thicknesses are set to 0.1m, so that the object is scaleable downwards by a factor of 10.

The version shown on the right (to be found in the Contents of the first) has prims which are already of minimum thickness (0.01m), and it is the inner surfaces which are positioned correctly, so that the 'seams' are visible externally, and can be coloured differently from the faces to make the structure clearer. This means that it is the inside which is a perfect icosahedron. If scaled up, it can be used in a variety of building applications, either on its own, or as multiples. As it is fully editable & copiable, individual prims can be removed to create entrances, and selected surfaces can be made transparent and partially shiny to create windows (see alternate image).

Custom scales on request at no extra charge.
