White for Purity, Blue for Loyalty, Red for the blood that has been sacrificed to protect liberty -- and the stars representing where such places can be found. That's what I was taught in grade school, anyways. This dress is a homage to that ideal...or, philosophy and politics aside, simply wear it because it is beautiful.
