Tradition in the new millennium! A small, modern home with a traditional Japanese style.
A Japanese-style home to fit your SL lifestyle. The roof and gable textures are from photos of Japanese castles, and the flooring is from a photo of a tatami mat. The sliding shoji screens use a lovely handmade Japanese paper texture. The windows have bamboo blinds instead of tint for privacy. The front door as well as all the sliding screens feature an excellent modifiable script that includes locking, access lists, and more. Includes extra copyable tatami mat with "kneel" animation.
Footprint: about 22m x 22 m including porch
Height: about 11m high
Prims: 141
Assembly:
This house is packaged using Rez-Faux which will auto-build it for you. Rez the Rezzer with the red dot facing just in front of where you want your building to be, then click it and choose "Rez." See the notecard "Setup Instructions For InkWelle Builds" for detailed instructions.
Scripts:
The windows (including those in the door) are tintable for your privacy. You can click on the controller to open and close the blinds, or you can use chat commands. Say "/8 tint" to cause the windows to be covered by blinds from the outside. Say "/8 clear" to make the windows clear again.
The door and the shoji screens are scripted to lock and have other features as well. Open the door, then say "show help" for a list of commands, including how to lock the door and maintain a list of people who can open the door. This is an excellent free script, but you can replace it with your own door script if you choose. See the notecard "InkWelle Door Instructions" for details.
Textures:
The textures on this house are fairly authentic. The flooring is from a photo of a real tatami mat. The tiles on the roof are from a photo of a place called Banaji Hondo. The ornamental work under the gables is from a photo of Osaka castle.
Screens:
The screens open or close when you touch them. Note that these will ONLY work as long as they are linked together the way that they are now (meaning -- there are 3 parts to each screen-set... the 2 screens + the window above it. Those 3 things must be linked together and the window (not the screens) should be the root). If you ever accidentally unlink things, just make sure that no screens are "root prims".
