~JD~ MTF sculpted Vintage Car - dark version

In the 1910s the production of a certain Model T using moving assembly lines changed the face of automotive industry forever. The prices fell from $1000 to $360 and soon other companies followed the practice of 'Fordism' to produce cheaper vehicles.

The irony of history is that to create a car from the 1910s in Second Life we needed extra care and used no virtual assembly lines yet managed to keep the price reasonable.

Congratulations to another hopefully content owner of a JD MTF Vintage Car, the car of choice for the finest gentlemen of Second Life! Our company heartily recommend that you always keep our driving and maintenance instructions in sight, providing a long life to your newest asset.

The motorist's operation guide

In our truck manual we wrote:

"It takes a skillful person to get on the road of the 1920s and navigate thru all the hazards of the bumpy terrain (like that of the Linden roads...) and successfully deliver your cargo to your destination."
It is very true for a car coming from the '10s especially when you are driving around top speed!

To get into the chauffeur's seat, right click on the car and select 'Hop on' from the pie menu. The engine will eventually start, however, in the night when the weather is usually cold and, you might see flashes of your headlights while the engine is being fired up. Don't worry, it is normal.

Use 'W', 'A' keys to apply throttle/break|reverse and 'S', 'D' keys to steer the vehicle. Press 'E' to shift up and 'C' to shift down.

Press SHIFT+Left/Right arrow to cycle through the 4 camera settings. (Though it's best to drive in mouselook with the 'M' key.)

Press (and maybe hold) 'E' and 'C' TOGETHER to apply the hand brake (aka parking brake or e-brake). It can help you turn or decelerate faster. Also your tires will squeak.

Touch the instrument board for a brief flash of your current speed/mileage data. You can set it to permanent by selecting 'HUD' from the menu you get when you touch the car.

Clicking left button in mouselook sounds the horn.

The car counts the miles you put into it. You can check these if you click the instrument board. There are two numbers for this:

KM/MI : shows the daily usage (the usage since the last rez).

TOTAL: shows the total milage the car has ever done.

Tinting your car

There are two versions of the Vintage Car, one with dark textures and one with light textures. You cannot paint a dark texture to look white, because no tint of dark is white. Other than that, the possibilities are endless.

Tinting to a preset: touch the car and select TINTSEAT or TINTCHASSIS then select a preset.

If you select 'CUSTOM', you must enter a HSL color on channel 7.

Customizing the license plate

You receive the license plate texture in full permission (included in the pack). Please be careful, this texture contains the colormap and alpha data of the windows and indoor details as well. If you modify the number plate in outer editor (Photoshop, Gimp, etc.) save it with apha data as well, otherwise the windows might be solid.
If you really understand, what you see on the texture, you can mod the window, indoor parts and front grille texture as well, if you are totally unexperienced with that, just leave as it is.

After each rezzing you have 2 minutes to change it. Steps to take:

1. CTRL + DRAG a texture onto the proper prim (ie.: on the license plate). If this is the first texture in the contents, your new texture is now set.
