This product includes both a companion and wanderer version!
The wanderer is meant to be put out on land (anywhere, any surface, even in the air if you so choose!) and it will wander freely and randomly from the point you turn it 'on' from.
It will NOT follow you or any avatars, except by pure chance and coincidence.
The companion is meant to be worn as an avatar accessory, attached to your avatar (usually avatar centre), and it will animate right beside you as you walk, run, stand, etc.
It will NOT roam on land. It may animate idly in place, but that is all.

Could be better
I bought them for the hanging versions and can only comment on those. There are 3 versions, which are identical in appearance but have different "animations". These "animations" are actually not animations but just 2 different opening states of the wings, with each of the 3 versions going from the closed state (same in all 3 versions) to an open state (different in the 3 versions) and back. It is blatantly obvious that the 3 open states together would form an animation that goes from closed to open in 3 steps, but there is no hanging version included that actually implements this at least somewhat fluid animation. Instead they made 3 versions that jump between 2 states. Why make 3 broken versions instead of a single good one? I still rate them 3 stars because you can turn off the "animation" and they do look quite nice and can be configured to have black or brown fur and black or red eyes.
Very cute
They are excellent pets for vampires and perfect to set vampire places, dungeons, maybe sontans, castles ... any dark area these will give a nice touch for those of us who like creatures of the night, they look very detailed and realistic, they have several useful options for its decoration and only between 2 and 3 prims according to the specimen you use and as a detail, you can have an o as a pet that will keep flying by your side.

Great for Halloween!
These are great ... add the Companion and your bat flies along side your right shoulder. Hang the others where you choose and the Orbiter (flies in a circle) and Wander (set radius/height) are also a great addition. :)
