~JJ~ Divining Rod

~JJ~ Divining Rod

To use your ~JJ~ Divining Rod simply Add it from inventory. Adding it will attach it to your avatar's left hand by default. If you Attach or Wear the item it may still work but it may attach to another body part or detach another item you are wearing unintentionally. You can edit the item in Edit mode to resize or reposition it to your liking.

To use the ~JJ~ Divining Rod simply move around the world with it. It will sense the items nearby (within 3 meters) and make a comment to you in a private message if it locates an item it thinks might be aquatic in some way. You can adjust the frequency of its scans by touching the rod and entering the number of seconds between sweeps into the text box that appears. It can be set to scan a minimum of 3 seconds and up to any amount of time you wish. There is no need to scan too frequently so try not to make this number too low. It is set for 10 seconds by default which is pretty frequent as it is. You can enter 0 to turn off scanning, thus, disabling all notifications from the rod.

If the ~JJ~ Divining Rod stops working for you you can try a couple things to get it started again. First, make sure the scan frequency is set to something low enough that you will be able to tell if it is working more quickly. You can also detach the object and Add it back onto your avatar again. Remember, it is possible that the rod may be working fine but yo may not be near enough to a detected object for it to respond to you.
