In 1893, Claude Monet, arguably the most famous impressionist artist of all, turned a small pond on his property at Giverney into an Asian water garden, adding flowers, trees, shrubs, water lilies and a Japanese bridge -- a scene that he used for inspiration in his works for the next quarter of a century. This is that garden.
