The K-Auto Greeter is an attachment that can be configured to play a specific personal "special effect" when a person in your list comes in your range. The range and the people's list / effects are configurable by notecard: you can select from a preloaded list of effects to perform when a person approaches: TPaway, happy, edit, fall, ninja, stomp, love, pickle.
Each effect can perform: particles poof or toss, play a sound, play an animation, say a phrase for a configurable time. There are a series of preloaded effects ready to use, but if you are an advanced user you can edit the effects configuration notecard and make your own!
The K-Auto Greeter will greet your people only one time, unless you re-attach it, relog, or the given time (default 3hours, configurable) has passed. The K-Auto Greeter will wait a few seconds between one greeting and the other, so they won't come up all at the same time. Surprise your friends, and give them a very special greeting!
Have fun!
[BASIC SETUP 1-2-3]
1- Rez or add the K-Auto Greeter and edit the ~config notecard to add your own list of people.
2- Optionally edit the ~effects (edit at own risk!) to configure your own effects.
3- Just add the K-Auto Greeter and wait for your people to approach. Cheers!
[OWNER EDITING]
To edit the ~config notecard inside the K-Auto Greeter you can either rez it, either edit while attached. When you rez your K-Auto Greeter, it will become visible for you to work at ease. But don't worry: the K-Auto Greeter will become automatically invisible again once you add to yourself!
~config notecard
============
Right click and edit the K-Auto Greeter: you will find (other than the script) a configuration notecard named ~config. Here you will find some useful parameters that you can set for your convenience: scan range, scan interval, minutes after which the greeter will automatically greet people again and verbose or silent startup.
After these parameters, there is the list of people that the K-Auto Greeter will great with a special effect!
To add a new person to the list (you can of course delete the sample value provided!), you will need to add a new line with the following values: user key=name of the effect.
The names of the preloaded effects are listed in the configuration notecard: TPaway, happy, edit, fall, ninja, stomp, love, pickle.
So if you want to greet Kika Yongho as she approaches with a "ninja" effect, you will add the following lines to your config:
# Kika Yongho
11977e7d-3e2f-4103-be78-c0dea397e8c7=ninja
The first line is a comment, with the name of the person the key refers to (for your convenience). To find the person's key, open their profile, it is written in the second life tab.
To add a second friend, simply add below (or instead) your own lines with the same structure.
