Based loosely on a Burrell agricultural traction engine. Originally these famous engines were manufactured by Charles Burrell and Sons at their St Nicholas Works in Thetford, Norfolk, England. The model has been further modified to become the pride of the travelling fair, the famous "showmans engine". These were designed to provide power and transport for a travelling funfair or circus. Similar to other road-going traction engines, showman's engines were normally distinguished by the addition of a full-length canopy, a dynamo mounted in front of the chimney, and brightly coloured paintwork with ornate decorations. The dynamo was used to generate electricity to illuminate and power various fairground rides. Although originally the ride's motion was powered by an internal steam engine, some later rides were driven direct from the showman's engine via a belt drive.

No boiler certificate required for this reproduction. Crafted from scratch, a mesh with different levels of detail and detailed textures. Also included are 3 different texture themes for the engine; traditional green and dark red colours and also a rusty green, very weathered texture. The model is fully operational, allowing for one driver and a passenger. The SL vehicle characteristics have been tuned to try to replicate the full size traction engine with slow steering and minimal self alignment and two gears.

Valve gear and primary drive flywheel has been animated. A low lag mode allows you to disable this motion while the vehicle is in motion which can reduce the network & region server requirements. The engine can be fired without a driver sitting to demonstrate the animations.

The whistle & lights are fully functional and controllable by the driver with particle effects for the whistle and general smoke from the funnel. The canopy lighting can also be switched separately to the headlights.

The driver has two custom animations which will be automatically switched between while driving and there are 8 passenger options selectable by a dedicated passenger menu.

Standard security options (anyone, group, owner) will limit who can drive & change the settings of the engine.

For driving there are a couple of camera options. Firstly a fixed camera which always retains the same view. Alternatively there is a dynamic camera which changes position trying to follow the engine.

The price is very fair, I would recommend this item to any one who likes steam machinery, build quality and prim count is excellent too and drives really nice too, speaking as some one who has owned a real traction engine im impressed with working details, I bought the living van to go with this item and very impressed by just clicking the tow hitch you get a menu to auto link or de link the van to and from the engine a truly nice touch.
Very well done full 5 stars rating would buy again from this seller for sure.
