What is This?
═════════════

This HUD can be used as a fancy text generator and/or an impersonator thingie. So you can convert normal text into fancy characters and paste it in your profile or wherever; and you can whisper, say, shout and send IM's (Instant Messages) using fancy characters. And you can also simulate other people "speaking". Or both!
This is intended for friendly fun purposes and not to harass people. :)

USING YOUR PRODUCT
══════════════════════

1) Easy peasy! Right-click the HUD in your inventory and select Add.
The HUD icon should be visible at the lower left corner of your screen.
If the HUD icon is not visible you may need to reposition the HUD (see FAQ below).
Click the HUD icon to bring up the main menu.

2) Click [ Font… ] and select one of the fonts. This is optional. Normal SL font will be used if this step is skipped.

3) Optionally click [ Talker… ] and select a avatar in the region or type in any name you want as the impersonated person, AKA Talker. Your own name is selected by default.

4) Optionally click [ IM Target… ] and select a avatar in the region as the target avatar for an IM (Instant Message). Blank is selected by default.

Now you can:

1) Convert dull text into fancy text:

Click [ Paste… ] , type in some text and click Submit… your text will be converted into the fancy characters you selected and pasted in your local chat (only you can see it), so you can now copy that fancy text and paste it elsewhere.

2) Whisper, say, shout or send an IM using fancy (or dull) characters:

Click either [ Whisper… ] or [ Say… ] or [ Shout… ] or [ IM… ] and type in your text and click Submit.

3) Whisper, say, shout or IM using channels:

- channel 19 to whisper
- channel 20 to say
- channel 21 to shout
- channel 22 to IM

For example, type in open chat:

/19 any text
to "whisper" 'any text' on open chat.

/20 any text
to "say" 'any text' on open chat.

/21 any text
to "shout" 'any text' on open chat.

/22 any text
to "IM" 'any text' to a previously selected target avatar on their open chat.

NOTES

• Not all characters can be converted, usually only plain english alphabet letters can.
• Some letters may come out like a square or just borked… nothing I can do about it, sorry.
• Unicode characters may take up 2, 3 or 4 bytes, this means that using them in your profile will cause you to run out of space sooner than when using plain characters.
• Text "spoken" via an impersonator will show in a different color than that used for normal avatars.
• When clicked in local chat "impersonated names" will open an object's profile that points to your profile (default SL behavior).
• IM's will be received by the target avatar as a private message to their open chat because objects cannot start a private conversation.
• After sending an IM the script will halt for 2 seconds - this is so by Linden Lab design.
