LMeter is a display attachment having three functions: Measurement of the sim, avatar and camera position, Measurement of landmark position and warping the avatar to the camera position. A detailed user manual was written for LMeter, the manual is available online, ready for loking into or download.

1. What can LMeter do?

Position measurement

If worn, LMeter displays what sim the avatar is in, where this sim is located, avatar location, camera location and distance. The positions are given by local and global coordinates and since the version 1.5, the distance is given in meters and feets.

Now click LMeter and a menu button and all this data is printed in private chat, ready for copy&paste. But more now, here you get additionally the SLURL of the avatar position, in the old style of 1.x SL viewers and new style of 2.x iewers.

So if you are SL2 user and a club owner, and are attacked by of older viewer users for sending invites with useless SLURL’s, you might find this device handy, as it generates SLURL’s every viewer can handle.

Camera measurement

Sometimes, you might hapen to hover the camera into an interesting shop, club or garden place. Assuming it is a public place but you can or want not go there at moment, you are stil able to take a landmark of it. Just click the Meter and menu button button and LMeter prints the SLURL (in both styles) of the actual camera position.

All you need later is to scroll up in the chat history and hit the SLURL, or you can send it to friends. But please by landmarking places this way, respect their owners and their owners privacy.

Landmark measurement

Simply drop a landmark on LMeter, and it prints out a couple of informations about the landmark and also the distance to You. Also in kilometers, meters, miles and feets. Set a marker and drop the next landmark, now the LMeter prints also the distance between that landmark and marker, i.e. the distance between both landmarked points. This allows for example sort out landmarks that target same place but have different names, if that job is not to do often, though.

Warping

Warpig is another feature very usefull to leave laggy places, to reach far places without a teleporter, to reach lost objects or walking pets, or simply to catch up friends while exploring new places. Just hover the camera to position you want be, click LMeter and hit another menu button. The avatar is brought with a high speed to the camera position.

a fantasic Product. Just what I needed to gain a bit of an edge while play golf. I use the camera zoom to get theexact distance to the pin and can accurately gauge the strength of my shot. Works flawlessly every time. BTW, to let you know how impressed I am with this - this is the first time I have ever written a review on any product. Great job!
