Made for LLCS damage
As the name and nomenclature would suggest, this is a Russian LPO-50 with mounted gas tanks (instead of a tank that's worn like a backpack) that is themed around being built out of scrap parts, home-built/milled parts, and in general was likely something that some glorious lunatic built in his/her garage out of garbage from a scrap heap. This is intended to allow this weapon to fit right at home in any post-apoc sim, but also in sims that take place in the modern era as home-built weapons (and even flamethrowers at that) are not unheard of and even common in some areas of the world. It can also be used in a futuristic setting as, assuredly, these parts would STILL be easy enough to find and throw together. Sure, it has no neon glowing bits, but there's no rule or law stating future weapons have to fit into a rave party, now is there?
Fire Mechanics:
The fire that comes forth from your weapon will travel in an arc from your weapon. The higher your aim, the farther it'll arc, until it achieves a max ordinance. Any higher than this and it'll start to reduce in range until eventually your fire is landing right back on you. Imagine it like fire a water hose as it is, essentially, the exact same concept.
When the fire hits an avatar, that avatar will die immediately. If the fire hits an object it'll react in two different ways: Some fire will stick to the surface and the rest will bounce off of the surface. Any avatar that touches this fire will take partial damage, albeit heavy damage and will likely not survive unless said avatar immediately vacates the flames. The bounce of this fire is entirely dependent on your angle to said surface, and the resistance of gravity. This means you can bounce the fire through openings in order to hit areas inside said opening without directly exposing yourself to said opening. This makes the flamethrower ideal for clearing out smaller rooms, bunkers, trenches, tunnels, and other claustrophobic settings without exposing yourself to incoming fire.
One special function of the LPO-50 is that on occasion blazing embers will be left behind after some firing. These embers are temporary and only last about a minute. These embers can be a bit tough to spot if you're not careful. These embers do partial damage and can effectively, if RNG is on your side, turn the area you just torched into an incendiary minefield. Thusly, along with the normal burn of the fire, which lasts a small period of time, the embers also help attribute this weapon towards being an effective means of area denial.
A special thanks to the following for allowing this weapon to be possible:
- Vikki Placebo (built the mesh years ago, check out her store! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/49336 )
- Sufferot Resident (scripted this thing for free and asked for nothing in return. A true friend and Russian to boot)
- TheMinus Ziskey (his animations were used for this weapon)
- LLCS Damage
- Custom Mesh
- Easy to use
- In-depth fire mechanics
- Low lag
Pretty deece flamethrower
The model and textures are both great, and the built in AO is very nice as well.
I'm especially a fan of how balanced this weapon is, things like flamethrowers can be really prone to being really cheesy and unfair, but this one has a balanced range and arcing mechanism as well as partial damage, and the residual flames don't last forever. Definitely one of the better ones on the market.
This Is What My Life Has Been Missing
This is just about perfect - the mesh model, the textures, the animations, the flame are all flawless. It's incredibly easy to use, without having to go through all sorts of gyrations to draw/sling the flamethrower. Whether you're relieving stress, starting a giant bonfire or just setting things on fire....you need this. Very worthwhile investment!
You should own a flamethrower
Functionally, works perfectly and as intended, visually, pleasing to the eye even under close inspection details stand out which really add character to the model such as the peeling tape and the wires feeding into the nozzle, it even has nice sounds and a holstered version so you can wear it on your persons in a safe manner.
As for why you might need this product? It's a flamethrower, if you are having a hard time justifying to yourself purchasing something which lets you engulf everything in your path with fiery death I am not sure how your thought process works.
