A Pair of Biscuit Porcelain Figures on a Gilded Bronze Pedestal

Designed by Étienne-Maurice Falconet between 1762 and 1766—then director of the Royal Sèvres Manufactory—these two exquisite pieces, La Baigneuse and La Nymphe, are crafted in unglazed porcelain (known as biscuit), with a soft matte finish reminiscent of classical marble.

They embody the elegance and refinement of the mid-18th century, a time when intimate themes intertwined with the everyday to create works that were both delicate and deeply evocative.
