The LMS is a library role-play which can also be used to offer online eBooks. By default all books are 'notional', i.e. no objects or texts are actually given, so the procedures as a functioning lending library are entirely RP. But the Librarian or Administrator can add eBook links either before they are borrowed ('Stock'), in which case they will be offered automatically to borrowers, or afterwards ('Follow-up') if the requested title has been source online. A starting stock of 30 titles is included.

The LMS consists of:
* A mannequin Librarian (M,C), default name Leila Lender, which handles requests & returns and stores data.
* A desk bell (M,C) for users to ring for assistance.
There are also two optional accessories:
* A document case called Library Annexe (M,T) to be given to an administrator for adding eBook stock.
* A document case called Library Alts (M,C) to be used by the owner for alternative titles.
(Other items shown in images are for illustration purposes and are not provided.)

There are 4 access levels ranging from borrower to owner. Ideally you will need a room appropriately furnished, with a reception desk for library users and you should also consider appointing someone who will assist you with administration. As the library is designed for role-play, it has a loan period, which is by default 14 days, after which books are deemed to be overdue, and a write-off time of 28 days. Reports are sent to both owner and administrator listing loans and overdues.

The LMS has a menu detailed below which is available to all users by clicking the service bell. The access level determines the menu content. Users with access level 3 or 4 can click either the bell or Leila.

*Access Level 1+ (in group)
Help: Get Help notecard
Stock: List all eBooks which can be sent immediately on requesting a book.
Req/Ret: Request to borrow a book or return a borrowed book.

*Access Level 2+ (permitted tags)
Loans: List all loans (borrower, title, date).

*Access Level 3+ (administrators)
Follow-up: Send eBook link (or other message) to borrower for a book not yet 'in stock'.
Overdue: List all overdue books (borrower, title, overdue time in days).
Summary: Preview report of month's borrowing (sent automatically at end of month, then reset).

* Access Level 4 (owner)
LLchat: Enter text for Leila to say in chat.
Backup: Copy loan records to backup database. (Backup also occurs automatically after every loan & return and whenever the Library Lender script is reset or saved.)
Clear: Clear all loan records.
Restore: Restore loan records from backup database. Restore also occurs automatically if Leila is taken into inventory and re-rezzed.

The Library Management System is ideal for use in schools, where teachers can use it to supplement class role play and provide support materials for lessons.
