Linden Exchange Financials Monitor & Alert Device
by Little Gray
This device monitors and displays exchange rate data providing alerts via instant messaging when market conditions change. You have received this document because you are not the owner of the device and do not have permission to access the control menu.
The following functions are available to the owner through a menu interface:
Hourly Stats - lists hourly highs, lows, volume, the time the information was updated by Linden labs, the total number of polls recorded by the device, and amount of memory available.
Alerts - enables/disables the sending of alerts to the owner through instant messaging.
Poll - forces an immediate update. Performs a manual poll.
Text Toggle - Show or Hide Text Display.
On/Off - activates/deactivates automatic polling, updating, and alerts. Glowing particle light indicates unit is running in automatic mode.
Clear Memory - clears the polled data storage. Preserves calculated variables.
Reset - restore to default. Clears data and variable memory.
Exchange rate highs and lows are displayed as the number of lindens to the dollar. Linden trade volumes are expressed as U.S. dollars. Records and displays the lowest, most favorable, exchange rate for selling linden dollars in exchange for U.S. dollars.
Manual and automatic modes. Blue operating light indicates when unit is running in Automatic mode.
Under stable market conditions, the floating text appears blue. Under conditions favorable for selling Lindens, the floating text turns green. Under purchasing conditions, the floating text appears red.
The owner of this device receives alerts when the exchange rates drop below or exceed the previous day's high or lows and when the volume of trades for a given hour falls below or exceeds the previous day's volumes. This is a developing project; the owner of this device may receive more information that stated in this document.
The data displayed and used to calculate alerts is scraped directly from www.secondlife.com through the lsl script function llHTTPRequest. Linden Labs maintains this information for request through llHTTPRequests.
The information displayed is not a real time display. The amount of delay varies between a few seconds to up to 15 minutes. Hourly, daily, and monthly data is updated at least four times an hour. When on, the device captures and records relevant financial data every ten minutes.
Recorded data is used to evaluate market conditions over time, to report statistical information, and for calculating alert contingencies.
THIS DEVICE IS FOR SALE 'AS IS'. LINDEN LABS MAY MODIFY ACCESS TO THE FINANCIAL INFORMATION USED BY THIS DEVICE OR REMOVE ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION THIS DEVICE REQUIRES TO OPERATE. ANY REFUNDS OR UPDATES ARE AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF LITTLE GRAY. RIGHT-CLICK, SELECT 'MORE' AND CHOOSE 'BUY' TO PURCHASE THIS DEVICE AT THE SET PRICE.

See item in Second LifeAt this time is great for very specific things
I am guessing that it has been a long time since the product was released, and some data to make it work as advertised might be out of date. For example, it has never given me an alert, or has changed the text color depending on market condition... I am guessing is because the parameters are set for a different market back then... still if you know some scripting is very likely you can fix this issue yourself. I do not know how to script, so I can't, however, I don't really need it to do those things… What this product still does great is to let you know the highest and the lowest the market has gone recently, and that data is great to realistically get the best deals at the time of selling or purchasing lindens. It is also great to have that market info inwold and not having to check the website. Even with the flaws of plausible out of date params, for the price and for what it still does, I think is a good buy if you need those specific things.
