Lost Creek FLYING Dragonfly Southern Hawker v1.1 Version 1.1
Originally released to our Grizzly Creek in-world store ONLY, 3 of these "new" original GC dragonflies are species never seen on the MP. This one included,
The Southern Hawker (Aeshna cyanea) (m), the most widely distributed dragonfly in Europe will be instantly recognizable to our friends "across the pond". However, it does very closely resemble three known species in North and South America and is similiar in pattern to 2 in Australia (the Vicetail and the Emperor), so this insect should be able to fly in just about ANY home setting or forest without looking out of place at all.
In anticipation of the release of the brand new Lost Creek v2.0 dragonflies I decided to allow everyone a chance to own a copy of the original sculpt dragons in the meantime, to tide you good folk over while waiting for the 15 new species in the works now.
I've implemented a couple of user requests I received over the years and streamlined the original code even more so technically these are now "v1.1".
NEW WITH v1.1:
1)Lowered wing sound to 0.1 (was 0.4) for those with sensitive ears.
2) Reduced fixed range to 4 meters to more accurately reflect recent field studies placing the average territory of male dragonflies overall at roughly 4 meters and to allow them to work in slightly smaller spaces.
3) Increased the odds that the dragon will choose to hover in a location to look at something. (Reduces "darting" for some species)
4) Improved and streamlined some back-end code, for even lower lag operation.
5) Added a few small touches to the textures where needed without rebuilding them entirely as is the plan for the 2.0 insects.
6) Elongated ellipsoid flight range, (from hemisphere) for a more odd shaped distribution of target locations they choose.
7) User requested "smarts" to allow them to more easily fly in recessed SL land ponds without easily becoming "stuck" should they collide with land. I have implemented land collision detection and the appropriate response so they should now quickly recover from any situation in which they touch land or a land pond "wall" or riverbank.

Although we plan on releasing radically different (full MESH) dragons in the relatively near future with full menu control, the GC dragonflies now slightly updated) are just as relevant, reliable and realistic as ever, and STILL can add a whole new layer of realism in your garden or landscape.
With fully animated bodies (moving head, moving legs and abdomen), animated wings that change speed with the speed of the insect (eg speeding up to maintain a hover or when forward flight speed increases and slowing and or stopping when resting or sleeping), even when zoomed in very close there will be new detail to discover.
*FULLY ANIMATED - MOVING HEAD, LEGS, WINGS AND ABDOMEN
*CHANGING WING SPEED WITH BEHAVIOR SHIFTS - (eg increase to maintain hover etc)
* WORKS IN SKYBOXES AT ANY ALTITUDE
*SIMPLY PLACE WITH LEGS AT A HOME POSITION AND CLICK
*INCLUDES 3 MODELS - VANISH AT NIGHT, SLEEP AT HOME LOCATION AND 24HOUR OPERATION (only rests but ignores the day-cycle)
* DETAILED SPECIES ACCURATE TEXTURES
* SOUNDS OF WINGS IN FLIGHT
*4 METER RANDOM FLIGHT RANGE
* IMPLEMENTED USER REQUESTS OVER GC v1.0
* HOVERING, DARTING, RESTING AND SLEEPING BEHAVIORS
*VERY LOW LAG SCRIPTING - MANY HAIR SCRIPTS ARE MORE SYSTEM INTENSIVE. WE USE EXCLUSIVELY, MATH BASED NON-VEHICULAR MOVEMENT FOR ALL FREE ROAMING ANIMALS.
----------------------
Just rez so the legs are standing on the location you want them to consider "home" and click. The insects will take flight immediately and begin full operation with no further input needed from you.

Even with the impending release of the Lost Creek v 2.0 MESH Dragonfly line, these originals are still trend setters and continue to raise the bar for realism in SL like no others. I am personally a lover of dragonflies and I think you will find that obvious from the first moment you observe them.
We will continue to offer these v1.1 Dragons at a reduced price for those who wish to populate their landscapes today and cannot wait for the new models, for the foreseeable future. Although we DO plan on retiring them upon releasing the new line, so this may be your last chance to own one of the original trend setters.
