The Low Country Retreat was designed for use on a seashore or a marsh. Despite its name, which relates to the low, flat landscape of south-eastern Georgia in the USA, it is just as much at home on steep hillsides. The pilings and the ramp leading up to the house are very long and go very deep.

As a retreat, this is a very basic cabin. The main interior is one room. It is left entirely plain for your decorating fun, and one wall may be a different color or texture than the others. There is a pergola in front to ward away the hot subtropical sun, and a screened-in porch area to keep away Georgia gnats and mosquitoes. The roof is shiny metal to reflect the subtropical sun. A roof vent spins in a feeble effort to vent the attic.

The exterior needs paint. The decks are sun bleached wood with a nice driftwood tone in honor of famed Jekyll Island Georgia's driftwood beach.

Add a potbelly stove, maybe bunk beds, some tattered curtains, a dog bed, and a kegerator and you have a man-cave. Or decorate it with frilly lace curtains, an oriental rug, cats, and some nice informal furniture and you have a nice cozy little home. It fits on a 1024 lot with room and prims to spare.

But small in size does not mean small in quality. The Low Country Retreat is the same high quality you've come to expect from Argyle Homes and uses many of the same components as our larger, more expensive builds. That means besides incredible detail, things like windows open and light switches turn lights on and off.

One thing the Low Country retreat has is views. Spectacular views of the ocean, the marsh land, or the mountains. If you have a view, this is for you.

* Note- the Mini, Corvette, dog, and furnishings are not included, and are shown to give you a sense of space.
