The uncommon play of colour or Labradorescence makes this feldspar so charming. It received its name from Labrador, Canada where it was first found in 1770. The blue semi-transparent variety of labradorite is named spectrolite.
The shimmer of Labradorite shines and penetrates through the darkness and confusion. Metaphysically it also assists in strengthening intuition and stimulating imagination.
